They realized it was the fault of their 10 year old son. They just couldn't figure out how he did it.

Him being wheelchair bound made it seem nearly impossible for him to be the cause of her death. But here they were staring at a diary with the most gruesome drawings they’d ever seen.

The detective said, “I don’t accept the premise of your statement. A wheelchair user can do all kinds of things, including murder most foul. You don’t use your legs to stab, shoot, or poison somebody. He’s still a prime suspect.”

Old Man Whittier sputtered, "But my wife was killed by a falling anvil on top of a ladder. How could I have set that up? I'm a paraplegic, man!" The detective cuffed Whittier anyway. "Truth is," he grumbled, "I just don't like your face. Book em, Danno." Danno shrugged & obeyed.
