Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

"This must be her, although she looks exactly the same - but this is my Father's photograph?" Jerry thought to himself, suspicious of the woman.

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

The beast grabbed at the woman, tentacles wrapping around her until all that remained was a writhing mass and muffled screams.
