Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

He realised she was not the woman he was looking for, although the hairstyle seemed to be similar. Since it took him 7 weeks to find her, he decided to approach her, slighlty hoping she could anyhow contribute to solving the mystery

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

The creature did not resemble the known human form at all. It was a floating blob, secreting a strong onion odour. Jerry was holding his friend, trying to convince himself that it's to comfort her, but in reality he needed to soothe himself as the intentions of the creature were
