Dreams Wash Away

Once upon a time there was a man who likes seeing stars. That man was married and he had 2 daughters. One day, while he stayed at home, he had an idea.

He thought he’d like to see the stars a little closer. He could build himself a big telescope, but what if he built a rocket that could take his whole family up above the atmosphere?

Flying up among the stars would be so much more fantastic than simply gazing at them through a telescope. He nodded to himself as he contemplated this. “Okay,” he said. “Let’s make plans to construct a rocket ship. It will have to have plenty of windows, and of course be totally

stocked with peanut-butter M&Ms. Maybe even a Hershey bar or two." He had enough money, so he contacted the nearest NASA facility. "So, how long would it take to make one of these?" He pushed in front of them a blueprint of a space-ship that Lucas Films would've sued him for.

The engineer at NASA said it would take 4 days to create the ship. Using one they already had made up and applying the modifications he specified. His bags filled with sustenance that would prove essential in making the voyage. He looked at the cracked picture frame with fond

..memories of the life he had, the family and friends. Knowing that they will miss him and he will miss them as well. Most of all knowing that the mission he embarks on starting a new colony on Mars will start a new chapter not only for him, but for humanity.
