Drink deeply don’t let go

  • Sometimes in life you’re overwhelmed by choices, to the point of paralysis. Right now, you find yourself in the opposite situation. There is only one choice. It won’t be fun, but it’s the only thing you can do. You’ve wracked your brain and don’t see another option.

  • You're going to have to drink from a plastic cup. With much trepidation, you fill the cup from the faucet. It's a little cup—something from your childhood—but it's the only clean one in the house, & you will NOT do the dishes. It's not your turn. You raise the cup to your lips...

  • Then the police barged in and said, "put your hands up." But I was too thirsty to do so. Instead I quickly drank from the cup before the policeman could fire a shot. Turns out I had grossly miscalculated, the police with his Gatlin gun, obliterated everything in my house.

    But at least I still had my cup, it was important to me, my mother had given it to me just before she had suddenly vanished when I was a child. I tapped it with my finger and suddenly my mother's old cleaning broom knocked the police out cold
