Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

Jerry couldn't believe his eyes, the two were practically identical. His head was spinning as he looked again. How could this happen?

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

"What is this?" Jerry asked. The creature was dazzled in light as it looked down towards Jerry. "Fear me not, for I am only an angel." The creature said. After that, Jerry blanked as his chair tipped backwards into the dark realm of his consciousness.
