Dissolving Into Self

Juniper Sraye loves the feeling of rain slicking her skin. She loves the way the rain leaves the scent of dew sticking to the air. Even on the worst day of her life, she finds comfort in the thunderstorm.

Unfortunately, fortune led her to live in the desert. It was the only place she could follow her passionate love for cactus landscaping. But she missed rain so much! In her third desert year, she came up with a great compromise:

She would lay down outside on her back, raise her legs up into the air, spread them into a V, and then pee wildly to create a golden shower, her long missed rain!

As it poured, all of the memories came flooding back. The drops, the bank, the ATM that gave her the billion dollars. The pleasant memories came back.

She was so caught up in reverie that she failed to notice the levees buckling under the torrential downpour. It took a billion dollars to teach her that the most important things in life cost nothing. She washed away from the riverbanks feeling nothing but gratitude.
