Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

He sighed not sure that she was the one who murdered her husband. She looked so kind and innocent. Yet even the devil himself can appear like an angel. He wasn’t very good with understanding his own emotions. But he had to ignore that at the moment. He put the camera down.

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

He jumped up which caused him to stumble and fall to the ground. He didn’t know what that creature was, but he wasn’t going to stick around to find out. He quickly stood up and made his way through the panicked crowd. He had to find a way to escape.
