Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

He had the craziest thought - but then shrugged it off... that lady just happened to have silky, dark brown hair, emerald, green eyes, and the friendliest smile in the world.

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

"Tiana, we are here to collect you. You've spent ten years as an alien, and now you must return to where you belong," the creature croaked, guiding the startled woman onto a large spaceship. She sighed before stepping on.
