Prince of the forest floor

Perched on top of the bright blue mushroom, a shiny tin whistle between his curly lips, the little elf played his cheery melody to no one in particular.

Or so he thought. A kiwi peered around a nearby tree. Kiwi looked around and whittled his whiskers, as if to invite more creatures to watch. And sure enough, Takahe and Piwakawaka RVSP’d to the forest concert immediately. Piwakawaka danced above the elf. The elf hardly noticed.
