Blinky’s Lament

I'm the “smart” guy, at least that's what everyone calls me. I have many other skills and hobbies but I get the “smart” label just because I get straight A’s, it's not hard for me you know? I don’t even pay much attention, I just catch up with the subject at the last chance.

I’ve been top of my class since elementary. This has caused an overwhelming amount of girls to approach me, but not for my looks or personality. Only because I’m the “smart” one. Often, I’ll do their homework, make cheat sheets, or tutor before exams.

It helps them, and it helps me. There’s no better way to learn something than to teach it. I became one of the best teachers in my high school while I was a student there.

But all that effort fell into oblivion when I was hit by a truck. All that knowledge that I acquired over the years slipping through my fingers. I wasn't able to communicate anymore.

My nurse & I devised a clever way of communicating through blinks—my eyelids were the only things I could command anymore. Winking my way through the alphabet, I composed this very tale you're reading. Won't my teachers be proud? Won't I still be the smart guy? Hahahaha, losers!
