Supervisor Dave confronted his employee, Renee, about her bad habit falling asleep on the job. First, he said,

have some coffee. Two sugars, just a splash of cream, right? There you go. Now, tell me exactly why you’re so tired every day, Renee. What’s keeping you up at night? Insomnia or moonlighting?

Renee fidgeted. “Fine,” she said. “I didn’t think you’d notice. I do have somewhat of a side project, but it’s hardly a second job. In fact I haven’t even made a penny from it, not yet.”

Her boss threw up her hands. “Renee! What am I going to do with this? Your side hustle is a problem. You need to choose.” Renee narrowed her eyes. “I don’t think so, Margo. Not unless you want me telling Big Eddie what you’re really doing here.” Margo gasped. “You wouldn’t!”

"Maybe I already did," Renee said icily. Margo leapt at her, red polished nails reaching for her throat. Renee swung up an arm to defend herself, clocking Margo in the chops with her elbow, but that didn't stop her attack. Margo's fingers were like a vise around Renee's throat.
