Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

Jerry confirm he has the correct target and proceeds to head over, he almost reached her table smoothly but was thrown off balance by a sudden unexpected explosion.

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

The creature was the explosion! The creature gobbled up Jerry and the woman. It gobbled up the diner. It gobbled up the whole town. Now we won’t ever know.
