Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

The woman had a eye bigger than the moon staring me down as I got my caramel cappuccino. The eye was so big it had 8 veins pulsating and popping out.

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

Then the woman’s eye popped out of her head! BOOM. Grew legs and arms and 3 more eyes. It’s ate the monster whole. And proceeded to clim back into her owners eye socket.
