I’m a dreamer. I always wanted to investigate a rainbow and make it answer for its evasiveness. I once took my jeep to chase a rainbow, eating dry lucky charms the whole way with a determined glint in my eye. “Damn leprechauns ruining everything for the rest of us…”

I stood there, pondering those thoughts and the thrill of being a “rainbow chaser.” Would I actually get to see a leprechaun? Would they greet me? What would they have to say for themselves? I just pondered those thoughts, waiting for a rainy day.

Eventually, a few days later, rain came and, with it, a rainbow. I went to the end of the rainbow and waited at a distance to see if a leprechaun would come out. I waited for 3 hours, and just when I had given up hope, a leprechaun appeared.

He was currently shooting a television advert for a well known Irish alcoholic beverage; Guinness.

In one hand stood a tiny "pint" of the black gold and in his other a Gold Coin.

“Did someone say ‘black gold’?” The wall burst as a sea of Marines entered the pub. With guns pointed at the offender, they tackled the poor man, grabbing his pint of Guinness. “Ah, sweet, sweet oil.” The US anthem played as an eagle could be heard screeching in the far distance.

A bearded old man pointed at the sky and shoot his gun. Fulminated, the bird fell to the ground. "Eagle for dinner!" said the old folk. The piano stopped and the Marines became surrounded by the regulars. "The gold is mine!" Said "Why is so?" Replied the marine "Cause I'm black"

Eventually, they all came to a decision. They would pay the Marines the gold for the performance on the piano, and they would all bond while enjoying a freshly caught eagle. They just had to hope that the gold was enough. They had been playing in a random forest anyway.

“Vroom vroom” said the ostrich sadly. “I need three more characters to post this.”

"I'll help," said the meerkat. "Me too!" said the gazelle. "You can count on me!" said the tortoise. So the three helpful characters & the ostrich went to the post office together. They were so happy they sang—until they saw the wait time. "Three hours?" groaned the ostrich.

“Since we have to wait so long, how about a little race around the building?” said the gazelle. She got antsy if she had to stand still too long.
“I’m game,” said the tortoise.
The meerkat and ostrich started taking bets from the other customers at the post office.

A giant sinkhole appeared, swallowing all of the current protagonists like a tiny black hole. 

They disappeared into the nothingness. 
Onlookers came over the following weeks to mourn the deceased, or so they thought!

The sinkhole opened wide, as they all fell into its gaping chasm. “Feed me more,” it bellowed, “bring me their souls, for I am the pit of doom and despair! All will tremble before me! Muhahaha!” And the sinkhole became larger until it consumed the planet. Next stop: the universe.

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

It was her, the woman he'd been looking for all these years. 

His true love. 
His soul mate. 
His equal. 

Although he had never spoken to her, he just knew.

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

This being was ethereal and seemed to be made up of light. A light being! 

Unbeknownst to them, Jerry and the Woman thought in unison -

"These are beings from a higher place". 

They looked at one another and said in perfect synchronicity "...
